ICANN-Registrar: Domains from A-Z - Alphabetical list of all domains - Registration of all country domains A top-level domain (TLD) is the last part of an Internet domain name; that is, the letters which follow the final dot of any domain name. For example, in the domain name www.domainregistry.de, the top-level domain is .de. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) currently classifies top-level domains into three types: * country code top-level domains (ccTLD): Used by a country or a dependent territory. It is two letters long, for example jp for Japan. * generic top-level domain (gTLD): Used (at least in theory) by a particular class of organizations (for example, com for commercial organizations). It is three or more letters long. Most gTLDs are available for use worldwide, but for historical reasons mil (military) and gov (governmental) are restricted to use by the respective U.S. authorities. gTLDs are subclassified into sponsored top-level domains (sTLD), e.g. .aero, .coop and .museum, and unsponsored top-level domains (uTLD), e.g. .biz, .info, .name and .pro. * infrastructure top-level domain: The top-level domain .arpa is the only confirmed one. |
The generic domains without sponsor are:
.biz .com .edu .eu .gov .info .int .mil .name .net . .org The generic domains with sponsor are:
.aero .asia .cat .coop .jobs .mobi .museum .pro .tel .travel .xxx

The new IDN domains consist not only of Japanese, Arabic, Chinese and Cyrillic, etc. characters to the left of the dot in the domain, but also those characters to the right of the dot in the domain. For example, .com and .net are now available in Cyrillic. The overview of the new IDN domains can be found on our special IDN domains page .It would be a misunderstanding, to see in this list below a list of all New Top Level Domains. There are no domains listed below, which companies or organizations want to create for their own use, only these domains, which may be registered by a general public or by certain target groups.
