- Axel Springer Digital TV Guide’s advertising delivery platform My Personal Ad integrated with eventIS’ VOD products
- Combination provides new forms of advertising and leverages the potential of VOD platforms
- eventIS and Axel Springer to showcase new solution at IBC Amsterdam
Axel Springer, one of Europe’s leading publishing houses and eventIS, the Eindhoven-based specialist for Video on Demand solutions, today announced their partnership prior to the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC, September 12 to 16) in Amsterdam: Berlin-based Axel Springer Digital TV Guide (ASDTVG) and eventIS have integrated ASDTVG’s advertising delivery platform “My Personal Ad” with eventIS’ new generation Video on Demand back office solution. Both companies will showcase the new solution at IBC at the eventIS booth (Hall 4, Stand 4C50) with more news to be revealed before the show.
The combination of both systems gives advertisers the opportunity to leverage the advertising ecosystem by addressing VOD users and customers with targeted real-time advertisements. Operators are thus enabled to generate new and additional revenue streams from their existing Video on Demand offerings – while digital subscribers enjoy a pure VOD entertainment experience, combined with contextually relevant commercial messages in front of VOD sessions.
The Axel Springer Ad delivery system My Personal Ad has a rule-based decision engine for the optimal placement of commercial messages based on content genre, demographic and geographic parameters. My Personal Ad interfaces seamlessly with the eventIS PRODIS/TRAXIS products, which use high performance real-time components to deliver dynamically video advertisements in front of VOD titles.
Completed by the eventIS PRODIS reporting engine, the solution allows for up-to-the-minute statistics about advertising campaigns and suggests adjustments to generate higher success and return-of-investment for individual advertising campaigns via the Axel Springer ad campaign manager and its real-time interface to the eventIS PRODIS product.
Moving forward, both companies intend to extend their co-operation to the integration of more solutions from the ASDTVG product portfolio, ranging from premium editorial EPG content supplied directly from the editors of leading European and international TV magazines to a highly personalised TV experience, based on the alliance between Axel Springer and APRICO, a technology venture of Philips.
”We are delighted to cooperate with eventIS on this important new delivery platform for On Demand entertainment,” said Ned Wiley, Managing Director of Axel Springer Digital TV Guide. “Our new My Personal Ad advertising management system provides significant added value to advertisers and their agencies who increasingly insist on communication forms that meet the changing requirements of demanding television viewers: personalized and contextually relevant messages. Our partnership with eventIS is an important additional step in securing broad acceptance of this important innovation in the distribution and delivery of innovative forms of television advertising.”
Erwin van Dommelen, CEO of eventIS, added: ”The combination of our VOD back office solution with targeted advertising provided by ASDTVG allows operators to generate more revenues from their existing VOD offerings. Furthermore new marketing opportunities such as advertising-financed VOD become thinkable.”
