The new SENSO-CASE range of hand-held cases by the company OKW Gehäusesysteme GmbH, Buchen, was specially designed to meet the requirements of ergonomic single-hand operation, suitable for right-handers as well as left-handers. Specific measuring, controlling and signalling tasks as well as the recording of data using opto-electronic components can be carried out easily, quickly and reliably with this innovative range of cases.
The SENSO-CASE cases were designed as three-part cases in the dimensions 180/78 x 86/32 x 45/25 mm (L x W x H) and consist as standard of one top part and one bottom part as well as a handle cover. Fully preassembled electronics packages with integrated interfaces are suitable for installation in the top part. The corresponding PCB attachment domes in the upper part are adapted in height to the current display modules and pushbuttons. The bottom part with elevated front part hooks into the front of the top part and is "invisibly" screwed tight. Finally, the handle cover is fitted using a metric screw. The handle area was designed to be particularly ergonomic for reliable and fatigue-free handling. The V-shaped head section forms the actual communications interface and contains a recessed control panel for membrane and silicone keyboards, displays etc. The projecting front and the sides offer plenty of space to accommodate many different types of interfaces and sensors.
The power for the SENSO-CASE can be supplied internally using 2 x 1.5V AA batteries (battery compartment in the range of accessories) or by means of a 9V flat battery (PP3). Alternatively, the manufacturer offers push-on bushings with diameters of 3.4 to 5.9 mm as accessories for cable operation. The specially integrated opening in the handle can be closed if not required by means of a moulded part included in the scope of delivery so that it is flush with the contour. The SENSO-CASE is made of high-quality ABS (UL 94 HB) in the standard colours of off-white (RAL 9002) and lava (similar to NCS S 7502-B).
