The significance of the ARAB HEALTH as an internationally leading fair remained unbroken. After MEDICA in Dusseldorf, the ARAB HEALTH is the second largest professional trade show in medical device technology and healthcare. This year it might have enlarged its position even further. Besides it is the most relevant market place for Arabic and Asian countries such as India and China with a total of about 2300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and a remarkable number of visitors from Pakistan this year. The principal economic partner of the UAE in the health sector is and will remain Germany. Nearly 400 exhibitors from Germany – by far the strongest fraction of exhibitors and an additional 15% compared to the previous year – that speaks for itself. But the relevance of the ARAB HEALTH seems to remain a secret to the German economic- and health politicians. One single state secretary from Brandenburg was present at the fair. Nonetheless the medium-size industry felt comfortable and the atmosphere was excellent, just like the business climate. The "exhibit" photographed most in the German hall (Zabel Hall) was a lady falcon posing for a Swabian accompany. With a lot of serenity she let people admired and photograph her thousands of time over those 4 days while her lame wing was treated with a modern pain therapy device.
The six consultants of SCHILLINGER (BDU) were fully taken up by keeping in touch with existing business contacts and establishing new relations. During the numerous meetings with representatives of Arabic health ministries and hospitals in particular the high demand for qualified physicians and hospital- and management personnel crystallized out. The equipment of the hospitals often is of highest standard but it lacks of according professionals for an optimal handling of the mostly high tech medical device technology. Due to the existing deficits in the healthcare system there is also a high demand of the public institutions for consulting services in this field. The healthcare market still is one of the most important growth markets in the region – not just in the UAE, but also in the neighboring Golf countries – and offers best perspectives for "Quality made in Germany" in both, sales market and service sector.
But the leading topic at the ARAB HEALTH was the product launch of the World Directory MEDICAL DISTRIBUTORS. The interest in the latest SCHILLINGER (BDU) product was tremendous and the announced web version of the World Directory MEDICAL DISTRIBUTORS, which will be available shortly, was welcomed by all visitors. The great success of this year's participation was convincing again. SCHILLINGER (BDU) will be present for its sixth ARAB HEALTH in 2010 in Dubai!
