Dualcarrier HSPA+ doubles the speeds of current HSPA+ networks from a theoretical maximum of 21 megabits per second (Mbps) to 42 Mbps, making them more efficient and providing a better experience for customers with more consistent network performance. The new Sierra Wireless AirCard(R) 312U USB modem is a key component in several Dual-Carrier HSPA+ demonstrations at Mobile World Congress 2010, which opens today and runs through February 18 in Barcelona, Spain. In collaboration with Telstra and Ericsson, demonstrations of Dual-Carrier HSPA+ utilizing the AirCard 312U USB modem will take place in the Ericsson and the GSMA (8C118) stands. In addition, Anritsu is demonstrating the Sierra Wireless AirCard 312U USB modem with Anritsu test equipment at the Anritsu stand (1B31).
"Sierra Wireless and Telstra have collaborated many times before in delivering new technology to customers in Australia, and we are pleased to continue this collaboration with Dual-Carrier HSPA+. With Dual-Carrier HSPA+, network operators like Telstra are able to offer their customers a 4Glike experience sooner than they would be able to do so by waiting for LTE technology," said Didier Dutronc, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Sierra Wireless. "The technology upgrade to Dual-Carrier HSPA+ with the AirCard 312U and other upcoming products offers improved efficiency for network operators and provides faster, more consistent performance for end users."
Sierra Wireless is exhibiting at Mobile World Congress 2010, held at the Fira Barcelona from February 15 to 18. Visitors are welcome to stop by our stand at AV-36 on the Avenue.
