Flexible, reliable, compact
The product range of ODU MEDI-SNAP is wide, and there is one product that stands out. Up to protection class IP68, up to 41 contacts, available also as a hybrid version and with silicone over-molded cable assembly: ODU MEDI-SNAP Size 3.5 is as flexible as it gets. ODU offers complete systems consisting of push-pull or break-away connectors with mechanical or optical coding. The possibilities are not endless – but ODU is pushing the limits to ensure top performance even in the smallest available space.
A wide variety of applications
As variable as the connector itself are the possible applications of the product. Its flexibility allows for adaptation to a wide variety of medical applications, but it is also suitable for industries such as test and measurement, industrial electronics or automotive.
Special and customized inserts for hybrid solutions offer enough space for numerous signals in conjunction with the transmission of power and/or fluids as required for the most complex of applications. Customized solutions can also accommodate additional media such as coax or fiber optics, as well as high-voltage solutions in line with the customer’s requirements. The plastic connector is compatible with all common sterilization methods in medical technology and offers the highest level of touch protection in accordance with IEC 60601-1 (2 MOPP/2 MOOP). The special insert designs by ODU can accommodate and fulfill the necessary air and creepage distances in order to ensure a safe and secure performance for the defined application. The design-in process together with ODU’s engineers is the first and best move towards a successful solution.
ODU’s complete solutions
ODU’s MEDI-SNAP connectors can be manufactured including cable assembly – for example with silicon-overmolding which ensures not only autoclavability, but also avoids any unpleasant stick-slip effect, creating an excellent haptic. ODU offers an optimized solution from a single source and thereby facilitates and helps avoid any potential supply chain issues when dealing with multiple entities.
