Im EU-Projekt ISBA (Insulation Solution based on Aerogels) arbeiten eine Reihe von Forschungseinrichtungen und Raumfahrtunternehmen gemeinsam an verschiedenen Aerogel-basierten Isolationslösungen für Trägerraketen oder Satelliten.

Das CAE beteiligt sich hierbei mit einer Materiallösung für extrem hohe Temperaturen wie sie z.B. beim Wiedereintritt eines Launchers auftreten. Letzte Woche war das Konsortium zu Gast bei den Partnern der Universität Debrecen zum einjährigen Projekttreffen. Bereits nach einem Drittel der Gesamtlaufzeit von drei Jahren konnten einige Meilensteine verbucht werden und die Weichen für die kommenden Monate wurden gestellt.
